Program Information

Residential Treatment Programs- We have residential programs on both Versailles and Owensboro (Mary Kendall) Campuses. The residential program is designed to help young people, ages 12-17, who have histories of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and/or family trauma. Many of the youth we care for have had multiple placements prior to coming to our program. Our goal is addressing the individual needs of the young person and thereby stabilizing them to help build a better future.

Emergency Shelter- Emergency placement is for youth ages 6-17 for whom their current home is no longer an appropriate place for them. We assess their needs and make recommendations to state social workers for appropriate future placements.

Independent Living Programs- Both campuses have Independent Living Programs for youth ages 16-21. We assist young people in finishing their education including college or trade school, assist them in finding part-time employment, educate them on the basic skills needed to live on one’s own (budgeting, balancing checkbook, cooking, shopping, parenting skills, relationship skills, etc.)

Alternative to Detention Home Monitoring Program- We assist the courts by monitoring youth who have been assigned Home Monitoring. We not only monitor their location, but we assist the families in accessing needed resources. Our goal is to stabilize the family so that the youth receives the help they need, and do not have further disruptions in their life.

In-Home Crisis Stabilization - In this program we work with families to network them to needed resources and thereby stabilize the home. These include: counseling, job skills, accessing community resources, parenting skills, etc.

SIGNALS-Substance Abuse Prevention Program- This research-based program is solidly grounded in the best practices of the drug prevention field. SIGNALS is an acronym for Setting Important Goals now Against Life-Threatening Substances. SIGNALS is available to any Youth-Serving Organization. It is targeted for ages 12-25.

Adoption Program - We provide home study and post-adoption services to families and network with child-placing agencies across the country.

Connections Community Health Program - This program is providing health education and services for low income children, youth and families in three rural counties of central Kentucky, Anderson, Jessamine and Woodford. In these counties, the need for health services exceeds the resources available to meet them. We have established partnerships that will enable us to serve the health care needs of the families in a comprehensive, integrated and effective way. We are partnering with several community organizations -- Anderson County Health Department, Anderson County Family and Youth Resource Centers. The primary funding for this Program is from The Good Samaritan Foundation.

Accomplishments, Achievements, and Accreditations

We were one of the first agencies to receive national accreditation in the state of Kentucky. Currently, we are accredited by the national COA (Council on Accreditation). We are also accredited through the United Methodist Association’s E.A.G.L.E. (Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading Toward Excellence) Program. We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
